OOPS WOW ART PLAY BOXES
These boxes were initially developed over 'lockdown' so that people could have some Oops Wow type fun at home. They were received so well that I thought I would make up some more for this year. There are now 7 to choose from. Information about each one is below, and you can buy them from my Etsy shop JoBurlingtonArt . If you live in or near Bridport, you can use the code OOPSWOWLOCAL at the check out to take off the cost of postage, and we can arrange a time for you to pick it up/ somewhere to meet to do a handover.
Oops Wow Art Play Boxes are based on popular Oops Wow Messy Art Sessions.
They are packed with fun ideas and open ended materials for your kids to explore and make their own unique creations.
Each pack has enough materials for 2 kids.
Potato Sack Monsters
The Potato Sack Monster Pack comes with 2 large potato sacks, lots of paper and card, glue, paint sticks and feathers. The instruction/ideas sheets guide them trough how to transform the potato sack into something they can wear, and then gets them thinking about what they will make.
This pack is suitable for children aged 4 to around 10yrs old.
Adult assistance will be required for the younger children when cutting the potato sacks.

Kandinsky Hats & Miro Mobiles
The Kandinsky Hats & Miro Mobiles pack comes with card for 'hats' , pre-cut card shapes, stickers, tape, glue stick, pipe cleaners, coloured pasta, and 2 coat hangers.
There are instructions and ideas sheets for each activity as well as ideas for how to carry on exploring the work of Miro and Kandinsky.

The BOX Box
The BOX Box is an introduction to the infinite possibilities of a cardboard box!
It includes a board book 'NOT A BOX' by Antoinette Portis which is a gorgeous story of a rabbit and a box, which is not a box of course!
This box is good for younger children, from 2 - 8yrs old.
Also included is a booklet written by Jo Burlington of Oops Wow Messy Art talking about the joy and important work that gets done when children play with boxes. There is also a pack of paint sticks, some tape and another little box and some bits to get you started, but you will have to go and hunt down some big boxes.

Chihuly's Magic Box box is a fun introduction to the astouding work of glass artist Dale Chihuly. With a variety of projects with unusual and exciting materials that allow your children to play with some of the same ideas as Chihuly.

This Play With Clay Box is full of ideas for your child to explore clay, from messy sensory exploration to fun makes, to slightly more intricate projects.

An Oops Wow Family Art Play Box
This is a family box with a variety of activities for you all to have a go at.
Things to make & wear, things to do with objects you have in your house, games to play, cards to make and send to a friend.
It is aimed at a family where the children are aged 3-10yrs old.
There are enough materials for 2 children and 2 adults.
There's lots in the box - potato sacks, paper bags, coloured paper, card & cardboard. PVA glue, paint sticks, pipe cleaners, feathers, cards & envelopes.
If you have a bigger family get in touch and I can add some more bits for a small extra cost.
And if by any chance your kids have already done the potato sack monsters, then let me know and I can swap that bit for another activity :)

It's All About Paper
It's All About Paper - An Oops Wow Art Pack
Paper is amazing! it is not just something to draw on....
This pack explores many of the myriad of different ways of working/ playing with paper...
from making a city to making a zine, to making an immersive installation.
The pack introduces lots of techniques and approaches to using paper to make art with.
It offers some clear instructions and ideas of activities that could be made with the materials in the pack, as well as showing work from professional artists who work with paper in all it's different possibilities.
The pack includes a wonderful and unique selection of coloured, patterned and painted papers - many made at and saved from previous oops wow messy art sessions!
Also included is a glue stick, fun washi tapes, cut outs from magazines as well as lots of plain paper and card.
This pack will have something for everyone - people who like to work small, with fine detailed crafting, to big room sized ideas; physical & tactile approaches, conceptual approaches, story telling, or engineering.
It is good for slightly older kids 6ish all the way to adults
