Upcoming Sessions & Events
As well the events listed below, I run occasional sessions for groups, schools and other organisations. I run an art club at a cool school, I'm one of the regular facilitators at Bridport Community Shed sessions for young people (11-18yr olds) and I pop into Bridport Youth Club about once a month to do a bit of art with the juniors.

Art Room After School

£10 per session, half term blocks only.
Good for kids age 6 - 11yrs
I'm hoping to start an afterschool art club for 6-11yr olds. There'll be lots of fun projects and then as the kids get to know the studio and what stuff I have there, they can have more freedom to follow their own ideas.
This will be a small group of approximately 8 kids. It can be a drop-off group, however I will need a couple of parent type people to stick around.

I need people to sign up for half-term blocks. This next half-term up to Easter is quite short at 5 weeks, so it would be £50 per child.
I'm going to run a taster session as some kids are nervous of new things - this will be on Monday 2nd February 4-5.15pm. Let me know if you'd like to come along to this.

Drawing Club for grown-ups

Lots of people have been in touch asking for a Drawing Club for grown-ups, so I thought I would give it a go. I love drawing, both traditional observational drawing as well as expressive and experimental approaches to drawing.
I will set things up, but also I'll respond to the interests of the group. Come and let me know what you would like to explore.
This group will be for all levels, because everyone needs to practice, and play. It can be really hard to make yourself do things all on your own. Drawing together is the best way to get going.

An afternoon in the ART ROOM

Come and play in the Art Room - my new studio! I will have a good selection of materials for you to play with and make whatever you like.
I will also have some ideas at the ready if you want.
The studio is through the white door next to Clock Tower Records, it's on the first floor - up some slightly gnarly concrete steps, and then there is an adventure involving more steps to get to the loo, so it's not accessible to people who can't manage stairs unfortunately. This can be a drop-off session, however I will need a couple of parents to stick around, please let me know if you can do that when you book. There are sofas, a kettle, and art books, so it could be a nice time for you to chill out.

DRAWING CLUB 1 & 2

The last one was lovely, but lots of people couldn't get a place, so I will put on 2 sessions and see if that works for people.
This group is for people age 9/10 ish and above. Something changes around this age, and kids become motivated to draw what they see.... this can be a most frustrating stage, because, drawing from observation is actually really really hard!! Luckily there are lots of tips, techniques and exercises that can really help, and this is what we will be doing in this group.
